complications and mistakes
I think that because Stephanie and I were so excited and ready to begin filming our favorite scene, we forgot some essentials due to our anticipation. First, we forgot some major props we were planning to use which were essential to the plot. The whole idea was to have Bonny read a book and when Sarah comes back, she will first believe she is reading it, making sense as to why she didn't realize she was dead. So, the problem was... we forgot a book. We realized this as we were setting up and had to think of quick solutions. I was considering approaching someone and asking but I thought it may be rude, so we had to choose another way to approach the scene. We decided to have her apply sunscreen as Sarah was leaving and be 'asleep' when she came back to yell at her. This wasn't what I necessarily wanted, but it would have to do. We also wanted to incorporate the cameras we have in our mood boards but ended up forgetting them, which luckily wasn't a huge deal as they did not necessarily help develop the plot. We overlooked a few details as well, beginning with how we were going to mix the syrup and food dye to create the blood, which was essential. We had to improvise and ended up using the bottle cap with the tube of the dye to create the appropriate color! The reason this was extra difficult was the wind. We ironically choose the windiest day of the year, and it just made it impossible to create some of the scenes correctly. In some of the final scenes, my hair, which reaches my torso, was flying around and disrupting the scene. We did what we could, but we did not have a hair band, so it does look kind of funny, but also adds a realistic touch to the opening.
